Our mission is to embrace and support children with special needs and their families by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment in our Lil’ Sprouts, NazKIDZ, and Route 56 Preteen classes. Through compassionate care, tailored resources, and meaningful relationships, we aim to nurture each child’s unique gifts, strengthen family bonds, and share the hope and joy of Jesus. We offer Hand in Hand every Sunday during second service!

What we offer at Hand in Hand

We provide different services to bring your child a safe and friendly space.

Sensory Room

The sensory/adaptive classroom is an extension of our Children’s and Preteen classes where a child who has special needs can go during the class times, if and when a break from group activities, worship time, noise, movement or lack of movement becomes overwhelming. We strive to create a safe and friendly space that meets the unique needs of a child with special needs and this space allows for a child to have time to reset in a calming environment. This is also where some children can experience God’s Word in a way that best fits their learning style and abilities with an adapted Bible lesson that utilizes hands-on activities.

Buddies

What is a Buddy? Sunday Buddies are volunteers who work alongside children with special needs. Our Buddies will be one-on-one helper for a child in the classroom and at large group gatherings to assist them as they participate and engage in classroom activities. They will also be the ones who go along with a child to the sensory room if and when needed.

Jr Buddies

A Jr Buddy is a child of the same or similar age that will be with a special needs child who may be unable to participate in the other Nazkidz class or gatherings. They will be a peer for the child and will follow the special needs child’s morning routine. (A teen/adult Buddy will always be with them)

Permissions and Pre-registration are required for a child to participate in Hand in Hand ministry. Once the initial intake form is completed, the parent/guardian will be put on a waiting list to be contacted. A Hand in Hand leader will be contacting you within a week to talk more about the ministry and what would work best for your child! Click the button below and get registered today!
